Young People

Young people between the ages of 13 and 24 are some of the most effected by HIV:

• Each year young people make up about 21% of the new HIV cases in the United States.

• Young people are also less likely to get treatment for HIV, which can lead to serious health problems and continued spreading. 

 

However, it is not all bad news! There was an 18.7% decrease in HIV cases in young Black Americans between 2015 and 2019.
