About Community START
The Community START (C-START) Project is a research project run by Indiana University in collaboration with Ohio State University, the University of Southern Florida, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Colorado Denver, and the University of Chicago.
C-START's purpose is to understand how community members feel about teens participating in HIV prevention research.
As part of C-START individuals participated in an online facilitated group discussion, called a public deliberation. Participation included:
-
Meeting with other community members in large and small groups.
-
Learning about youth HIV prevention and research protections for youth.
-
Learning about challenges in youth HIV research participation, and asked to reflect on what is most important to your community.
-
Developing solutions to challenges posed by youth HIV research participation.
